North Park University would like to take this opportunity to announce that applications are now being accepted for the position of Head Women’s Soccer Coach.
Position Summary: Individual must be able to recruit academically qualified and athletically competitive student-athletes and to motivate them to realize their potential in the classroom and on the field. The head coach is responsible for planning, developing, and administering his/her program to achieve program, department, and University goals. An additional assignment may be appointed based on the applicant's qualifications. This 12-month position includes, but is not limited to, directing all phases of a successful Division III program.
Essential Responsibilities: Direct a successful Division III program ensuring compliance with NPU, CCIW, and NCAA rules.
Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate recruiting and scouting activities.
Analyze performance and instruct athletes in game techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletics competition.
Oversee general administration of the program with the Director of Athletics to ensure that prescribed procedures are followed and schedules are met.
Establish close relationships with student-athletes and maintain effective lines of communication.
Coordinate with campus support services (Academic Services, Athletic Training Services, and Sports Information Services), assuring effective use and value to the program.
Exhibit a cooperative and positive attitude in dealing with students, faculty, staff, alumni, Viking Club members, news media, and other members of the North Park community.
Essential Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
Successful collegiate coaching experience.
Knowledge of NPU, CCIW, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Sincere commitment to the Division III philosophy.
Exceptional coaching, recruiting, administrative, and leadership skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with all constituencies (students, staff, faculty, administration, parents, and alumni).
A strong ability to work with student-athletes, on and off the field.
A personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education and key distinctives.
Able to work a schedule appropriate to coaching a team (i.e. days, nights, and weekends).
Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
Able to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
Able to effectively teach sport’s skills.
