Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training
The Athletic training staff is responsible for the medical care for varsity student-athletes. This position will function as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and will act as a liaison between physicians, administrators, coaches, student-athletes and parents for those sports assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine. Position will also act as a clinical preceptor of Athletic Training program students. This position, which is mission critical, is essential to ensuring that our student-athletes are receiving the best care possible. This care will be consistent within the scope of practice defined by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
1.Prevention of Athletic Injuries 2.Administer Emergency Care and First Aid 3.Evaluation and Management of Athletic Injuries 4.Rehabilitation of Athletic Injuries 5.Athlete Education and Counseling 6.Supervision and Administration 7.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Minimum 5 years work experience in college athletic training setting required. Experience in Division I athletics preferred.
Master’s Degree required in related field. NATABOC required. Once hired, must obtain Wisconsin state licensing.
This position will require evenings, weekends, and travel.
