This position is responsible for assisting in the management of multiple high profile professional sports drug-testing programs; performing quality control for the Professional Sports Department; supporting drug-testing collection contractors as necessary; performing administrative duties related to the operation of the Professional Sports Department; performing drug-test collections for Drug Free Sport clients; overseeing and maintaining professional sports drug-testing supply inventory; distributing supplies as needed to collection contractors; and supporting the Director of Professional Sports Drug Testing and other department staff as needed. This position requires the willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (30 to 40 percent) upon short notice; and work weekends occasionally.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A significant responsibility of this position will be to assist in the management of multiple high-profile professional sports drug-testing programs.
Assist in the management of quality control for all professional sports clients by maintaining daily communication with collection contractors in the field; monitor compliance with client collection protocols; track shipments from the collection contractors to the applicable laboratory; and verify accurate and complete collection contractor reports and investigate discrepancies related to collection contractor data submissions.
Provide excellent service to Drug Free Sport professional sports clients, independent collection contractors, and employees as part of a team-centered work environment.
Assist the Director of Professional Sports Drug Testing with client testing management including: a. Provide support outside of regular business hours as needed to professional sports clients and collection contractors for testing events. b. Perform selections of testing sites and schedule accordingly with appropriate collection contractors. c. Schedule testing sites with collection contractors. d. Perform random selections of athletes to be tested as part of drug-testing program. e. Create database downloads and support for Drug Free Sport’s proprietary paperless collection system SCAN®. f. Communicate notification and roster information with client representatives. g. Assist with annual drug-testing reports. h. Assist with test result management. i. Assist with international partnerships and international test scheduling.
Assist with the administration of the NASCAR drug-testing program, including: traveling to on-site testing events; providing in-office scheduling support for the NASCAR pre-license program; results reporting and management; and maintaining strong relationships with NASCAR members and individual teams.
Assist with internal technical support for iPads and SCAN®.
Assist with shipping and supplies needs (including inventory) for professional sport client programs including: a. Help oversee and maintain professional sport drug-testing supply inventory. b. Distribute supplies as needed to collection contractors.
Conduct drug testing for Drug Free Sport clients as needed.
Assist all Professional Sports Testing staff as requested from time-to-time.
Provide assistance on special projects and tasks as needed.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a high pressure time sensitive environment.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally including upon short notice.
Possess excellent communication (written/oral/listening) skills individually, and in small and large groups.
Highly motivated with passion for excellence, and extremely detail-oriented with focus on managing time and prioritizing tasks.
Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of professional sports operations including basketball, baseball, football, golf and other sports.
Working and operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and the Internet.
Pass pre-employment screening including background check, drug test, transcript verification, and confidentiality agreement.
Degree in sport administration, biology, chemistry, nutrition, process management or a related quality control degree.
