We are looking for two Graduate interns to assist the Sports Information Director in the promotion and coverage of academic, athletic, and social successes of Lesley University student-athletes, for both current players and alumni. This position requires availability on nights and weekends and the ability to travel to our off campus athletic facilities. The position includes a $2,000 stipend per semester. The anticipated start date is September 2017 with an anticipated end date of May 30, 2018.
Essential Functions: •Serve as the primary contact for assigned NCAA Division III varsity sports •Conduct all aspects of pre-game, in-game, and post-game coverage for assigned home contests •Write and edit content for the Lesley Athletics website (www.lesleyathletics.com) according to the standards set by the sports information office •Represent the University in a positive manner through various social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube •Assist in the training and supervising of student workers •Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Sports Information Director to ensure the smooth operation of the Lesley University Athletics program
•Bachelor's Degree. •Experience in a sports information office, either as a student assistant or intern. •Excellent written and oral communication skills. •Strong attention to detail, with excellent time management skills and organizational ability. •Experience with Stat Crew Statistical software. •Availability and willingness to work on nights and weekends. •Must have reliable transportation to travel to off-site athletic facilities. •Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, does your visa status allow you to work at Lesley University.
Preferred Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcast/Journalism, Graphic Design or a related field •Experience with video editing software •Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop
The position includes a $2,000 stipend per semester
