The Head Coach is responsible for the management and administration of all phases of the specific varsity intercollegiate sports program in compliance with NCAA, conference and institutional regulations. He/she understands the mission statement of the University and constantly strives to determine that his/her student/athletes achieve academic and athletic goals that directly reflect the core commitments of the university.
Organizes, supervises and coordinates practice sessions with the help of the assistant coach. Communicate with Associate AD’s for Facilities and Operations regarding practice schedules and field use and maintenance.
Establishes and maintains an organized recruiting system using EC, ACS and Salesforce. Recruits academically qualified student-athletes who form a competitive squad, meet established academic goals and objectives of the department of intercollegiate athletics and graduate from the University. Provides service to the community and participation in university wide events.
Maintains adequate records, interacts with Compliance Coordinator, Student-Athlete Success Program Coordinator and Faculty Athletic Representative on all matters pertaining to initial and continuing eligibility. Prepare individual grant-in-aid’s within the team equivalency limit.
Schedule contests and prepare contracts following NCAA and University guidelines. Plan for transportation, lodging and meals for team travel. Manages the fiscal affairs of his/her budget and work with the Assistant AD for Development on fundraising initiatives. Responsible for student data; including admissions, financial aid, registration and academic performance data. All such data is treated as confidential in accordance with federal, state and university regulations.
A valid driver's license is required.
Three to five years of coaching experiece is required.
