LIU Post, an NCAA Division II member of the East Coast Conference and the Northeast-10 Conference, seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Athletic Media Relations Director.
The LIU Post Department of Athletics has a rich tradition of success, capturing 21 NCAA Division II National Championships, five-straight East Coast Conference Commissioner’s Cups and a consistent Top-2 ranking in the East Region in the NACDA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings.
The Athletic Media Relations Director is responsible for creating and executing strategies to increase the visibility of student-athletes, coaches and all 25 NCAA Division II varsity programs.
Responsibilities include the coordination of media/public relations efforts; overseeing the webcast of home events; maintenance of the athletics website; creating and developing press releases; game notes for media, game programs and schedules and other printed material; gathering, maintaining and posting NCAA required statistics; game management duties specific to the Athletic Media Relations Director such as staffing for all home events.
Preferred Skills and Experience: • Strong written and verbal communication skills • General knowledge of SIDEARM Content Management System, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and Stat Crew Software • Extensive social media, graphic design, video editing and writing skills • Must be a proactive thinker who is interested in developing and executing new ideas to better improve the efficiency of the overall brand • Candidate must be able to work a non-standard work week, including nights, weekends and holidays • Ability to gain and maintain working knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance issues as they pertain to publicity and promotional efforts
