Essential Duties: Develops schedules for all sports/athletes on a team and/or individual basis. Establishes training programs specified for each team/student athlete to fit their needs. Interacts with coaches and athletes to improve the strength and power base and develop correct exercise techniques. Coordinates Individualized programs to improve physical conditioning to enhance sport performance. Investigates and researches strength and conditioning techniques. Tests and evaluates new strength and conditioning approaches and equipment to determine value with regard to assigned sport. Interacts and communicates effectively with student-athletes on a regular basis. Supervises weight room and oversees the maintenance of a clean and positive environment. Works closely with the athletic training staff to develop injury / surgery rehabilitation of student-athletes. Supervises employees in the Athletic Department. Oversees interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Performs other related duties as required.
Master’s degree in Kinesiology and/or a sports training program with emphasis on health promotions or related field required.
Four years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certification, National Strength Coaches Association certification, or United States Weight Lifting Association certification preferred.
