Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in foods and nutrition dietetics or public health nutrition; or Completion of an ADA Dietetic internship with ADA Commission; Dietetic Registration eligibility preferred.
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. License/Certification Required
Essential Job Functions:
Manage all aspects of performance nutrition for assigned teams. Plan and implement all competition meals, sideline/pregame, half time and postgame meals.Plan and optimize team nutrition budgets for each assigned team for optimal nutrition benefits. Collaborate with administrative, coaching, and support staff to enhance performance and well being of student athletes. Provide individual and team nutrition education and counseling to enhance the performance of the student athlete during pre-season, in-season, and post-season. Analyze and evaluate lab values, counsel at risk athletes, and manage all dietary supplements. Communicate with compliance staff on deregulation implementation. Supervise, train, and mentor nutrition student workers.Manage nutrition stations at various locations for assigned teams. Plan menus for training table, brunch, and camp meals. Organize cooking demos for assigned teams. Develop education materials for all athletes.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position:
Must have completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition. Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible.
Typical daily schedule: 6:30 am-11:00 am and 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Could vary according to team schedules.
This is a nine-month position where employee will be off from May 14 – Aug 14.
1. Applies basic knowledge, processes, methods, and/or procedures for patient services. 2. Develops nutritional assessments, nutritional care plans, and dietary instructions. 3. Provides basic instruction to patients, students, and others regarding nutrition plans, techniques, and procedures.
1. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the principles and practices of nutrition and/or dietetics related to the specialty area. 2. Interprets and applies guidelines, program goals, and standards. 3. Researches information for development of new programs.
Decision Making: 1. Follows standard nutrition/dietetic care plans and treatment programs.
