Graduate Assistants at Eastern Oregon University are responsible for assisting the head coaches in all areas necessary to ensure the academic and athletic success of the program. The graduate assistant must understand the dynamics of a small university setting and be a committed to adhering to NAIA and EOU rules, regulations, and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide assistance to the coaching staff in all functional areas of the program including:
Home and away contests
Other aspects of the program as determined by the Head Coach (e.g. recruiting fundraising, travel)
Scouting, film, study hall supervision, academic mentor and monitoring
Assist the coaching staff with any additional responsibilities as assigned
Description, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree required, as well as acceptance into a EOU graduate program
Strong knowledge of NAIA and Cascade Conference rules and regulation
Exhibit strong knowledge of basketball and able to communicate that knowledge effectively to student-athletes
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact appropriately with college student-athletes
Additional Salary Information: Position will pay all but one credit of tuition per quarter
