Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Athletic Director, Compliance and Student Welfare. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Athletics, the Assistant Director is responsible for managing compliance for the Department of Athletics and providing academic and student-athlete welfare programming.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two to three years of effective experience is required. Master’s degree is preferred. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management is required. Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence in holding coaching staff and students accountable for athletic compliance and academic related matters will be important. Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
Managing compliance for the Department of Athletics including ensuring compliance with all affiliated organizations.
Overseeing the work of the Compliance and Student Welfare Assistant.
Monitoring eligibility for the recruiting process and progress toward degree completion.
Assisting with the developing and maintaining a comprehensive compliance program.
Collaborating with appropriate departments to ensure student welfare.
Working with the Athletics Department to provide programming for student-athletes.
Monitoring academic progress and mid-term evaluations for all student-athletes.
Administering academic enrichment programs that provide opportunities for student-athletes to maintain and/or improve their academic success.
Overseeing the Student Athlete Mentor Program.
Serving as liaison to the Faculty Athletic Representative, Athletic Academic Advisor and Athletic Department coaches and staff.
Maintaining a student athlete advising caseload.
Supervising home athletic events and contests as needed.
Serving on Substance Abuse Committee. Administering institutional and NCAA tests.
Serving as the departmental mentor for new coaches.
