Texas Tech University is now accepting applications for the position of Lead Administrator - Football Academics, housed in the Marsha Sharp Center for Student-Athletes. The Lead Administrator will work in collaboration with the football support team to cultivate and implement a comprehensive support program. This position includes daily interaction with student-athletes, coaches, staff, faculty, and campus contacts to foster an atmosphere that retains student-athletes and culminates in graduation from the Texas Tech University.
Duties will include:
Collaborate with the Learning Assistance Program staff to assign tutoring, learning specialist sessions, academic coaching meetings, and study hall requirements for student-athletes
Monitor and evaluate student-athletes' progress toward degree and eligibility requirements. Maintain records in compliance with Texas Tech University, Big 12 Conference and NCAA standards
Serve as primary contact between Academic Services and the coaching staff; Coordinate faculty/staff guest coaching activities for your assigned sports
Serve as an athletic academic services liaison to staff and faculty; Work in collaboration athletic compliance and athletic certification to ensure proper procedures and process;
Assist with the degree progress and support of student-athletes participating in the sport of Football Assist with the recruiting activities as needed. Meet with & guide prospective student-athletes through pre-TTU admission process
Additional administrative duties include but are not limited to: Red Raider Orientation (RRO) for Athletics
Coordinate Spring RRO and other RRO sessions for incoming Football signees; responsible football walk-on & tryout clearance
Provide consistent and frequent communication with Director of Football Academics and with coaches about the progress of assigned student-athletes
Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, Texas Tech University, federal and state procedures, rules, regulations and policies
Bachelor's degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Five (5) years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs or research grants. Additional education my substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Master's degree in counseling, sport management, higher education or related area
