The baseball internship at Wisconsin Lutheran College will be a 10 month, at will, appointment that will begin as soon as a candidate is hired and be completed no later than June 30, 2018. The intern is expected to average 25 to 29 hours per week throughout the length of the contract.

As an Intern Baseball Assistant Coach, you are expected to perform your duties in a manner that is consistent with God’s Word. Assistant Coaches are role models and should exhibit behavior that reflects wisdom, understanding, moral judgment, courage, counsel, knowledge, holy living, and fear of the Lord. COMPENSATION The compensation for this internship will be $10,000. Both state and federal taxes will be deducted from compensation, as well as medicare and social security.
BENEFITS No benefits will be part of the compensation package.
EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES All duties normally associated with being and assistant college baseball coach.
Recruiting Responsibilities: Become familiar with all aspects of Slate as it pertains to baseball recruiting. Manage recruiting list. Off-Season exposure events. Develop an active list of events. Attend events. In Season. Manage High School Game Schedule, attend baseball games when possible. Help to facilitate campus tours. Be actively involved in recruiting 15 baseball players for the 2018-19 school year.
Equipment: Be actively involved in the care and maintenance of all baseball equipment.
Strength training/ Conditioning/Skill Development: Track Pre-season workouts. Help to oversee strength training program. Provide skill development drills for off season work.
Head JV (Varsity Reserve) Coach: Serve as Head Coach for the Varsity Reserve Baseball team. Assist on scheduling games, contacting officials, coordinating Travel.
Practice: Oversee the preparation of the gym for practice (when indoors). Prepare for Skill portion of Practice (position as assigned). Actively participate in all portions of practice. Assist with the field preparation before practice. Assist with the field shut down after practices.
Field Work: Assist in all aspects of the baseball field maintenance both in and out of season. Prepare the field for game play, for WLC use and for outside user events.
