Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Director of Athletic Development. The Assistant Director’s primary role is to assist the Director with cultivation and fundraising efforts of the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF). The Assistant Director will solicit financial contributions within and outside the Greater Hampton Roads Area to support the ODU Athletics Department. Additionally, he/she will aid in the planning, organization, and implementation of the Athletic Annual Fund Campaign.
Required Education: Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with experience equivalent to a master’s degree.
Required Qualifications: Considerable progressively responsible experience within athletic development. Some experience with collegiate athletics. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate the athletic fundraising objectives to all constituents through personal visits, direct mail campaigns, and special events. Ability to maintain strong organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to possess a strong work ethic and high integrity.
Preferred Qualifications: Postgraduate degree in business administration or sports management. Some experience in fundraising.
