This incumbent will assist in developing and maintaining a competitive Division I women’s hockey program in a manner compatible with the department and University philosophy, and in compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Manage the office operations and administration of the UMD Women’s Hockey Program. Manage and coordinate all aspects of team travel including flights, meals, lodging and assistance with team itineraries. Oversee sport budget as well as ordering supplies and equipment. Assist with the scheduling of facilities for practice, team functions or team meals. Works with the department financial contact and business office on all purchases, PO, returns or budgetary needs. Supervises a staff of one/two interns or student workers who help manage and maintain equipment. Organize and monitor the video program for the team including evaluation of software, hardware and services. Serves as an integral part of achieving fund raising, budget and community service goals. Support the UMD Athletics mission of excellence in the Classroom, Community and Competition; while furthering the strategic plan of UMD. Support equity and diversity throughout the program, department and university. Travel is required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
1-2 years of combined experience as a player, coach or staff member at the NCAA Division I, III, Junior League or High School Level.
Experience managing budgets.
Experience with direct report(s) supervision.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Commitment to athletic excellence in an academic environment.
Experience as a student athlete.
Demonstrated ability to communicate both written and verbally.
