The Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse/Athletics Communication Coordinator organizes and conducts team practices to prepare for and compete in team competitions; evaluates and recruits qualified student-athletes, including travel, solicitation and on-campus visits; helps to promote Wheaton College athletics through traditional and new media in conjunction with the Athletic Communications Director; complies with all NCAA Division III, NEWMAC, and Wheaton rules and regulations; and serves as a coordinator in the athletics communication office.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse/Athletics Communication Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist the head coach in preparing the women's lacrosse program for a full intercollegiate traditional and non-traditional varsity season. - Assist the head coach in organizing and conducting practices and managing all in-game operations. - Assist the head coach in student-athlete academic progress and be available for educational consultation and support for all student-athletes. - Travel locally, regionally and nationally to identify prospective student-athletes and assist the head coach in all aspects of the recruiting process. - Serve as athletics communication coordinator outside of the women's lacrosse season. - Oversee the student manager and/or recruiting assistant.
- Bachelor's degree required. - Valid driver's license required. - First Aid and CPR certified. - Ability to work independently and work evenings and weekend as necessary.
