The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Equipment Manager who will primarily manage the operation of the Petersen Sports Complex equipment and laundry rooms. He/she will be responsible for the use, security, and maintenance of equipment, apparel, and shoes according to established departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards. This position is responsible for issuing and retrieving equipment and apparel, managing laundry operations, tracking inventory through the use of the department’s existing systems, inspecting incoming supplies/equipment, and making the necessary repairs to existing equipment and team clothing. Additionally, the incumbent will also be required to process orders for assigned teams, pack for away competitions, and assist with hiring and managing student workers. It will be strongly recommended that the individual attend professional meetings to increase his/her knowledge. A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, and the employee must possess the knowledge of the types and uses of athletic equipment as well as have 1-2 years of experience in the operation of an equipment room.
