Stanford’s Department Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (“DAPER”) supports the nearly 900 student-athletes who compete on the 36 intercollegiate athletic teams sponsored by the university. It also supports the campus physical education, recreation and wellness initiatives. All employees contribute and help set the tone for the future of the organization. Currently, the Athletics Department is seeking applicants for the position of Head Coach - Softball.
This individual will be responsible for all aspects of a Division I Softball program including coordinating recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes; development of the student-athlete; game preparation; supporting the academic staff to ensure academic success of team members; assist with marketing and community involvement; budget management; and other administrative duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Senior Associate Athletic Director with sport oversight.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; five years of collegiate and/or elite amateur softball coaching experience in a full-time position; demonstrated ability to operate a successful program within NCAA and conference regulations; commitment to the academic success of student-athletes; demonstrated knowledge of the correct application of NCAA regulations; ability to teach/communicate effectively; demonstrated experience in the recruiting process of qualified student-athletes; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; and outstanding organizational, communication, and public relations skills. Final candidate offered this position will be required to pass pre-employment background check.
Preferred Qualifications: Collegiate Playing Experience; three or more years of Division I collegiate coaching experience (within the past five years) including demonstrated experience in the recruiting process of qualified student-athletes; and knowledge of the policies, rules and regulations of the NCAA.
Salary: commensurate with experience.
