To provide Athletic Training services to student-athletes and supervise athletic training students in clinical setting. The incumbent shall know, recognize and comply with the laws, policies, rules and regulations governing University and its employees, and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”) and the applicable Conference, as now constituted or as they may be amended during the Term of this agreement. Employee shall take all reasonable steps to endeavor to ensure that all assistant coaches, and any other employees for whom Employee is administratively responsible, comply with aforesaid policies, rules, and regulations.
The incumbent will have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse socioeconomic, cultural, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduated from a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education program 2. CPR with AED certification as a healthcare provider 3. Licensed Athletic Trainer in State of Wisconsin or eligible 4. Certified Athletic Trainer by Board of Certification for Athletic Training.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. 1 year or more of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer 2. Experience as Certified Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level 3. Experience as Certified Athletic Trainer at NCAA Division 1 4. Master’s degree in related field 5. Demonstrates ability to successfully complete administrative tasks of the position in a detailed manner 6. Demonstrates ability to professionally communication in a diverse culture with students, student-athletes, staff, faculty, doctor and other health professionals and outside affiliations. 7. Demonstrates a working knowledge of athletic injury evaluation and assessment with the ability to identify appropriate conditioning and rehabilitation programs with continuous management of injuries. 8. Demonstrates knowledge of and successful experience with a full range of therapeutic modalities, treatments and appropriate use of exercise equipment
Additional Salary Information: This is a 12-month, 84% appointment designated as fixed renewable non-teaching academic staff. This position comes with a competitive salary and benefit package. The final annual rate offer is dependent upon the finalist’s experience and qualifications.
