The University of New Mexico Athletic Department invites applications for our student success manager position. This position will be the secondary football position. The position coordinates and advises on a variety of programs associated with student success within a major, and autonomously functions as an academic component of the university. Implement programs and initiatives with defined recruitment, retention and graduation outcomes. Provide guidance on a variety of student support services such as: recruitment, placement tests, financial aid, academic and career advisement, tutoring, accessibility services and early crisis intervention. Implement strategic and operating plans as appropriate to meet the learning and academic success needs of the student population. The position will also assist student-athletes in understanding and meeting eligibility guidelines based on NCAA, MWC, and UNM requirements.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree, at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Advanced degrees may substitute for experience on a year-to-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Master’s degree in Counseling, Education, Sports Management/Administration, or a related field. Demonstrated experience with; Advising collegiate student athletes, knowledge of NCAA eligibility rules, experience in taking initiative, self-motivation, and professionalism, strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills as supported in resume and cover letter.
Additional Salary Information: Salary is $36000, non-negotiable.
