Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for Assistant Coach, Women’s Basketball. Indiana University Kokomo athletics is an intercollegiate athletic program and a Division II member of the NAIA. IU Kokomo offers men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, women’s tennis, baseball and women’s volleyball. This position is part time.
Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will provide support in the management and administration of various aspects of the program, including but not limited to: assisting with the recruitment process, including development of recruitment plans; developing and leading strength training and conditioning programs as needed; attending and assisting with practice as well as game planning efforts; breaking down film and performing analysis; supporting in game management functions; developing and implementing strategies for motivating and retaining student-athletes; participating in fundraising and community service projects; assisting with the coordination of travel arrangements; enforcing policies and procedures as outlined in the student-athlete handbook, team rules, and university student handbook; as well as other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Qualifications: Must have at least 2 years basketball coaching experience or collegiate playing experience. Must have experience in coordinating academics/mentoring students. Ability to work/travel with team early mornings and afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; knowledge of NAIA and/or NCAA compliance rules and regulations; collegiate playing experience preferred.
