The Texas Tech University Postgraduate Intercollegiate Athletics Administration Training Program is intended to provide on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates interested in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics administration. This program can last up to twenty-four (24) months.
Future leaders will experience administration principles such as:
Applying a standard of ethics to policy and administrative context
Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of current ticket operations
Communicating relevant information and ideas to management
Managing university resources to achieve organizational goals
In an effort to gain experience and knowledge in all aspects of intercollegiate athletic promotions and fan experience, future leaders are expected to perform the following essential job functions:
Create and implement advertising and promotions plan to increase Texas Tech student engagement and attendance at all athletics events
Build and foster relationships with student organizations to coordinate themed promotions at athletics events
Coordinate campus events and special events to promote student attendance
Work with Promotions and Fan Engagement staff to develop and coordinate themed in-game promotions with an emphasis on student participations
Plan, coordinate and manage marketing, promotional and fan engagement efforts for Texas Tech Student Rewards program
Assist in the planning and execution of marketing and fan engagement efforts for select sports
Including the creation, implementation and analysis of marketing plans
Development of promotional materials, advertisements and social graphics
Coordinate efforts with ticket office, ticket sales, softball staff and event management to ensure success and maximize fan engagement opportunities
Assist with the coordination of promotions and fan engagement for select Texas Tech athletics events
Actively research and develop new grassroots ideas for increasing attendance for collegiate athletics
Other duties as assigned by Assistant Athletic Director for Promotions and Fan Engagement
Maintain compliance with all NCAA, Big 12 and Texas Tech University rules, regulations and policies
Required Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and previous experience with collegiate or professional athletics.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Previous experience working within collegiate or professional athletics
