The Department of Athletics is seeking an Associate Athletic Director of Facilities & Event Management. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director. The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to provide opportunity to young people and develop leaders through a tradition of academic and athletic achievement in a progressive, inclusive environment of mutual respect. The Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management reports to the Deputy Athletic Director (AD) for Capital Projects and Internal Operations and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Facilities and Event Management team for Oregon State Athletics. Specific responsibilities include acting as the event manager for all football contests, as well as other sports as assigned. These responsibilities also include working with assigned staff on the planning and implementing of all game operation activities and the management of all the special events in Athletic department venues. This person also assists the Deputy AD and the facilities team with day-to-day facilities management and work requests. At the request of the Deputy AD, the person will also assist with Capital Project Management and Facilities Master Planning. The person will participate in developing and monitoring the facility and event management budget. This position is responsible for assisting with contract management and coordination with outside agencies providing services or equipment for Athletic and University events. This position also maintains up-to-date emergency and event related policies and procedures for the department. This position will supervise two (2) Directors of Event Management, the Manager of Facility Operations and the Facility Coordinator.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Sports Administration, or related field. AND Five (5) years of Event Management & Facility Maintenance Operations experience at an NCAA Division I institution or equivalent.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in managing athletic venues, athletic event management and athletic related capital projects.
User-level skills in MS Word, Excel, Publish, Outlook, Access, Publisher, & Illustrator.
Strong team orientation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of customers, public officials, community groups, administration, and other staff.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq.
