The Department of Athletics invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure-track appointment at the rank of 1st Assistant Coach within Collective Bargaining Unit 3. This position reports to the Head Women's Volleyball Coach and is responsible to assist with recruiting, game planning and all aspects of the Division II volleyball program in compliance with all NCAA, CCAA and institutional rules and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, effectively assisting in coaching a competitive Volleyball program in a manner, which promotes sportsmanship among athletes, ensuring compliance with all NCAA conference, CCAA, and institutional rules and regulations; Assist head coach in the coaching and day to day administration; overseeing video editing and video/statistical analysis; assist with practice and match preparation and player development; managing team travel; effectively assisting in recruiting qualified student athletes to participate in the women's athletic program, and promoting California State University Stanislaus academic and athletic programs to potential students; ensuring that players associated with the volleyball program are eligible under NCAA and CCAA regulations; assisting the Head Coach in developing and implementing clinic(s), summer camp(s), and effectively monitoring student athlete academic progress; referring or counseling where appropriate, and motivating the athlete; establishing and maintaining good personal relationships with student athletes, parents, staff, guidance counselors, the Community and the media.This position has non-standard hours and requires the ability to travel with a substantial time commitment. Bachelor’s degree required
Experience at the four-year level of coaching or playing Volleyball
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the NCAA Division II philosophy and have a proven ability to successfully recruit outstanding student-athletes
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Valid driver’s license is required for travel, must pass defensive driving and DMV check
